Chaplain Margaret Griffo


HB-16 Chaplain Margaret Griffo holds a Masters of Arts degree in Communication Disorders   She is a nationally certified and Alaska licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with specialty recognition in Fluency disorders.  Margaret has worked with all ages to assist individuals to improve or maximize their communication skills.  She holds AK teacher certification and is retired from the Anchorage School District.  She continues to maintain a limited speech-language private practice.  

She has been involved with APFCM since 2014 in hospital and call-out chaplaincy.  She has ICIFS CISM training in group and individual crisis intervention and suicide pre-, inter and postvention. She has completed a number of FEMA classes.  Margaret completed the APD Citizen Police Academy, FBI Citizen’s Academy as well as Crisis Intervention Team training through the Anchorage Police Department.  . 

Margaret was born and raised in the Netherlands and is bicultural and bilingual.  She and her dog, Waverly, actively participated in providing comfort, “therapy” and love as a dog therapy team at several local facilities.

A year ago, Margaret and Cupid were recognized by the Municipality of Anchorage  as  the first, first responder Chaplain K9 team  with the Alaska Police Fire Chaplains.  Cupid and Margaret are  a Certified NATIONAL Crisis Response Canine Team.

Vicki Taylor

Vicki is a 50 year old mother to two, Keith and Katlyn. Katlyn, known to many as "Miss K", had a rare progressive disorder called Fumarase Deficiency and died in 2017 at age 16. Everyone who met Miss K fell in love! Her smile lit up a room and she had a wonderful way of bringing smiles to each person who crossed her path! Vicki was an incredible mom! She was Katlyn's only caregiver other than the occasional  brief babysitter, and a fierce advocate who refused to leave her daughters' side when she was in the hospital. 

Vicki will share her story of finding joy in the midst of grief, and how that joy helped carry her through.

Glenn D. Burlamachi, CFSP, a Concord resident and funeral director has owned and operated the Concord Funeral Home since 2004, the Badger Funeral Homes of Littleton and Groton since 2016 and the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home in Maynard from 2014-2017.

Glenn’s professional and business development experience has allowed him to qualify his role as both funeral director and business leader. He manages and oversees all three funeral home locations; he encourages the team to participate in continuing education through seminars and local community-based programs. Barbara Drtina

Tom Greenhalgh, LICSW, has been involved in the Public Safety field since 1982. Retiring from full-time public safety work after just shy of 35 years as a Police Lt.?NRP. A former full-time Firefighter/Paramedic, he has been involved in Public Safety Diving for over 30 years as a team leader and trainer of a regional volunteer dive rescue team, a Corporate Trainer for Dive Rescue Int'l, and as an author/technical advisor on educational programs in this field. Tom is the Co-Drector for the Greater Lowell CISM Team in Massachusetts (MA), an ICISF Faculty member and approved trainer in multiples disciplines, co-author of the "From Battlefield to Street: One Uniform to Another" program, is an Algorithm and Diagnostics Trainer in TFT, and is a Peer/Staff clinician at the On-Site Academy in Gardner, MA. Tom also serves as the Director of Education for the MA State Peer Support Network, the Clinical Director for the MA State Police Peer Support Team, a Wellness Advisor the the Fire Chiefs' Association of MA, a member of the National FOP Wellness Committee training group, and as an advisor to various other local through international agencies. He continues to author, train others, and contribute to publications on various programs in these fields.

Tom serves as the co-founder and Executive Director of the 501(c)(3) non-profit agency National Public Safety Solutions Inc. Lee Atherton

Regina is no stranger to grief. Widowed in 2014 one week before her 44th wedding anniversary has been her biggest source of grief. Over the years, her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and all but one cousin have passed away. Only she and her siblings remain.  

She has owned multiple businesses, with her biggest business success also being one of her biggest sources of grief and feelings of failure when her 12+ year business, which was generating just under $5m a year, succumbed to the 2008 financial crisis.

Regina is also no stranger to philanthropic work. She has performed services for many organizations, including serving on the board of the Panhandle Workforce Commission (Amarillo, Texas) for several years, including as President for 2 terms. She volunteered with her local Chambers of Commerce, has taught at state level Chamber of Commerce conventions as well as helping to create Leadership Perryton. Through the methodology of Educational Kinesiology she has provided stress management training to staff at a local hospital and multiple years of providing stress management training to the volunteers in the Hospice program.

Lee Atherton is a certified end-of-life, grief support, and resilience coach with over 15 years’ experience. She is honored to help people live their dying by discovering the beauty in the process and the gifts to be found and to journey with people through the white waters of grief, navigating the chaos, until they reach the tranquil pool of stillness. “CoachRev” as many know her is also a compassionate officiant whose goal is for those in attendance to feel like they have just participated in a powerful and meaningful experience led by someone who knew the honoree well.

Recognizing the demands of anyone in the helping or caring professions, Lee offers programs in resiliency for chaplains, clinicians, clergy, and first responders. After receiving specialized training, she also serves those in public safety as a local fire chaplain and a Critical Incident Stress Management team member supporting first responders who have experienced a traumatic event.

Shadow The Crisis Response Dog
Shadow, an English Black Lab is not only Lee’s best buddy, he is also a big part of the CoachRev team. Initially trained and certified as a service dog for Lee, Shadow has since been certified with National Crisis Response Canines. His presence, intuition, and interaction with people who are or have experienced crisis is often a very welcomed, calming and peaceful presence.
